This division aims at proposing and solving important scientific problems in the field of light metal material technology, for supporting the national defense and economy development. We focus on phase transformation mechanism and alloy design, deformation mechanism and microstructure control, mechanical behavior and toughening mechanism, advanced light metal materials and applications, and development of advanced characterization technologies.
